Paws Canine Myotherapy Care provide a professional, caring and flexible service tailored to suits your dog’s individual needs. Feel free to contact Kirsty with any questions or concerns you may have about your pet’s treatment.

Treatments

Please allow up to 90 minutes for your dog’s initial consultation and first treatment. This will include a comprehensive consultation and assessment based on your vet’s diagnosis.

I will also request that you complete a questionnaire in advance which I can email or post to you ahead of the appointment.

Subsequent treatments

Follow up appointments are usually booked between 7-10 days following the initial consultation. Older dogs may need slightly longer for their bodies to adjust and recover between appointments.

Maintenance treatments

Depending on your dog’s condition, age and based on the length of observed benefits between treatments a maintenance schedule will be suggested.

Most dogs benefit from a monthly maintenance treatment; however I will discuss your dog’s individual needs during the appointment.

Please allow 60 minutes for a maintenance appointment.

Veterinary Consent

In order to treat your dog I must have prior veterinary consent. This is a requirement under the; Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 1962.
‍
‘The Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 1962 allows for the treatment by 'physiotherapy', provided that the animal has first been seen by a veterinary surgeon who has diagnosed the condition and decided that it should be treated by physiotherapy under his/her direction.’

I will request that a veterinary consent form is completed prior to the appointment. Often this can be emailed to your vet for completion and can be returned to me via email also.

Cost

Initial consultation and full assessment 1.5 hrs £55
Follow up appointments 1 hour £40- £45 depending on location.

PAWS Canine Myotherpay Care is available for home visits. Prices include locations within a 20 mile radius of Ivybridge. Distances over this may incur a mileage fee. Please call for an informal chat to discuss your individual needs.

Please note, full payment is requested at the time of the consultation. If you need to cancel an appointment I politely request 24 hours’ notice where possible.

Most pet insurers will cover the cost of complimentary therapy for your dog if they have been referred for treatment by a registered therapist or veterinary surgeon. If you wish to claim for your dogs treatment, please discuss with your insurance company in advance of the appointment.
